PPP: Huckabee holds a slight lead over Palin in Texas (1-19-11)

PPP released their latest GOP primary numbers for Texas today. Huckabee holds a slight lead over Palin. However, since it's unlikely that he will run, Texas is looking good for Palin. Romney's struggles in red states continues.

The crosstabs reveal more bad news for Romney. He trails Palin by 10 among moderates, 3 among liberals, and 12 among conservatives. That's rather remarkable considering the poll was conducted at the peak of the 'blood libel.'

Full results can be read HERE

In related news, a bill has been introduced in the Texas House to move the 2012 presidential primary from March to February.

Craig, Rick perry is not running. He can't even break 9% in his own state. I'm not sure why you picked THAT sample for your spam post.

Just to add, most of Perry's votes go to Palin.

Huckabee Adviser Takes Another Job

While Mike Huckabee insists that he's thinking seriously about running for president again, Jonathan Martin notes he's "doing little to put together the sort of organization needed to mount a campaign. The latest evidence: Chip Saltsman, his campaign manager in 2008 and one of his closest confidantes, has accepted a job as Chief of Staff for freshman Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN)."

RW,

Huck not running is Palin's only chance. She cann never ever ever ever defeat Huck in the race. You know it, I know it. It is what it is.

I guess Huck has to save us Republicans from an embarrassing loss to Obama.

Yes, she can beat Huck. The question is can she win the nom with Huck in the race. Or can Huck win with Palin in the race for that matter.

Huck would not have planned a week-long cruise in June if he was serious about running.
