Romney pulls 47% of usual Republican primary voters, with the other three frontrunners tied in the low teens, Sarah Palin at 12%, Newt Gingrich at 11%, and Mike Huckabee at 10%. Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, John Thune, and Mitch Daniels are even further behind, in the low single digits. Romney does so well here not only because of his term at the helm of the state, but because the electorate here is more moderate than in some other states. Only 58% call themselves conservative, versus around 67-75% in others. 39% are moderates, versus 20-25% elsewhere. Romney usually leads the moderate wing of the party, but trails with conservatives. Here, he does about equally well with both
PPP surveyed 250 Massachusetts Democratic primary voters, with a +/- 6.2% margin of error, and 300 GOP primary voters, with a +/- 5.7% margin of error, from November 29th to December 1st. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

Since Romney started his meltdown, and using only those PPP polls,Mitt leads amongst all the candidates. Not bad for a bad 6 weeks.
The poll includes democratic primary voters. Of course they didn’t vote for Palin. If they can’t have Obama, they’d vote for the Republican most like Obama, which appears to be Mitt. (Healthcare mandates, increase the size and scope of government.) And they sure would not vote for the candidate that can beat Obama.
When Palin becomes president, everything will change. She is clearly the opposite of Obama. She’s the common-sense, constitutional conservative. The TPM continues to grow in influence, and we don’t want more efficient big government, we want the small government of the constitution, and the liberty required for capitalism. This is what made our country strong and great. Compromising with socialism is what has caused the bulk of our country's current problems.
I-Guy, He's losing support in virtually all red/purple states, except perhaps Utah. I'm anxiously waiting for your heavily biased report so I can point it out for you.

The fine print at the bottom says Dem voters took the survey, but I'm sure that is a typo. See the results where is says that only 2% are self-described liberal, whereas 58% are conservative?

1) Where has Romney advocated for increasing the size and scope of Government? Please b/u with qoutes, proposals, etc.
2) Please show us all how Palin beats Obama, not only oin popular votes but in the Electoral College.

It's because this is the same group of people who they used to go up against Obama. Democrats were in that portion of the survey, but the screen them off for the GOP primary data.

Yes IG, apparently, he did win the Conservative vote in MA. Further, I am sure he is winning the Conservative vote in states like Utah. Fortunately, he is not winning the Conservative vote in most states. If he is still the front-runner, he is now tie with 2 others. He is no longer the only front runner and if we look at the other 49 states, (which elect 98.24% of all elected delegates) let's just say he certainly does not have a monopoly on the Conservative vote. BTW, an article in WND today is causing at least a few strong 2008 Romney supporters to re-consider. Mr. Farah said the following: "Even worse, Romney's history as governor of Massachusetts strongly suggests he will take the Republican Party in a direction that will make it indistinguishable for most Americans from the Democratic Party. As I have written in the past, Romney may well be the most dangerous man in America, because, if he becomes the next president, he will most assuredly enshrine most of the Obama agenda as a permanent legacy for the country."
