Mitt Romney - Backstage with Bryan

After Mitt Romney's relaxed, humorous and generally well recieved appearance on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last Wednesday night, the former MA Governor spent a few minutes after the show to tape a "Backstage With Byran" segment. Romney answered questions from host Byran Branly and those posed by Facebook subscribers.

During the interview with Leno, Romney was tight lipped about any presidential plans for 2012, and chose instead to discuss the GM Bailout, the TSA situation and Wikileak scandal. Backstage he not only dispelled the notion that Goverment can create jobs, but showed a heretofore unknown appreciation for bathroom humor. Raising fives sons will apparently do that to a man. One could easily imagine Romney being quite funny, in a Leslie Neilson manner.

Leno and Romney appeared to have a good time, with Leno seeming to take a shine to the possible 2012 Presidential candidate, giving him a warm pat on the back just prior to the first commercial break. During the interview, Romney discussed his being married for 41 years to his childhood sweetheart, Anne, and their having a family clan worthy of it's own census. In addition their 5 sons, the Romney clan also includes 5 daughters in law and 15 grandchildren. Backstage, Leno took some time to pose with Romney, his wife Anne, son Craig and his wife Mary.

Overall it was a fun time and the audience reaction was quite positive, not only in the studio, but at the Boston Herald as well. They had a very positive review of the show along with an on-line poll, the results of which were very positive for the former Bay State Governor.

Herald Pulse
What did you think of Mitt Romney’s appearance on ‘The Tonigt Show’?

50% - Romney for president!

9% - What a Mitt-take!

41% - I did not watch.

Romney is excellent in these types of relaxed settings. It shows a different side of him that many will come to know and like.

One of the “labels” for this post is “Sarah Palin.”
Yet she isn’t mentioned in the piece.

I guess she’s not only on her supporters’ minds.

Mitt was good on the show, however.
Not ‘stiff’ or ‘plastic’ as other Palinistas sometimes say.

I agree zeke. Romney seems to be more relaxed in these types of non-political, let your hair down environments.
