An accused shooter tied to Monday’s West Indian Day Parade violence had been out on bail at the time — because a lefty judge ignored prosecutors’ pleas to lock him up over an attempted-slay rap just a month ago.
Nayshawn Wilkinson, 19, was hauled out of the 77th Precinct in Brooklyn on Tuesday — wearing a shirt with the Nike slogan “JUST DO IT” on it — to head to court to face the new attempted-murder charges.
Wilkinson was already supposed to have been in court Tuesday for a hearing on his alleged prior attempted-murder shooting, in which a 15-year-old boy was struck by a bullet in front of a playground in July.
But even if Wilkinson had planned to show up for that hearing, he couldn’t — because he was busted again for the latest violence.
“Are we even surprised at this point?” a disgusted law-enforcement source told The Post on Tuesday.
“This is proof of what happens when you let shooters back on the street,” the source said. “Another bite at the apple, and someone is shot this time.
“At 19 years old, there’s a demonstrated lack of fear for the consequences of violating the terms of his release.“
The teen allegedly had shot a 24-year-old man in the butt Monday afternoon near the corner of St. Johns Place and Nostrand Avenue around the parade route.
It was not clear if the victim was his intended target, but the shot man has no prior arrests, law-enforcement sources said.
Wilkinson had been on the streets despite being busted for the previous shooting only a month ago.
That’s when the teen menace appeared before Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Janice Robinson for allegedly firing a gun twice at a 15-year-old boy in front of the Callahan-Kelly playground in Brownsville on July 22, according to the criminal complaint. --->READ MORE HERE

Less than five weeks after his first attempted murder charge, Nayshawn Wilkinson was accused of attempted murder again.
A 19-year-old Brooklyn man accused of attempted murder was released on $5,000 bail last month despite prosecutors asking that he be held in confinement. Now, police say he has been arrested again after shooting another man near New York City’s West Indian Day Parade.
Nayshawn Wilkinson was arrested Tuesday and is facing a new attempted murder charge stemming from a Monday afternoon shooting near Nostrand Avenue and St. Johns Place in Brooklyn, along the route of the annual parade. Police say a 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks. The victim was hospitalized and is expected to survive. Wilkinson was taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered, according to authorities.
The arrest came less than five weeks after Wilkinson was released in an earlier attempted murder case. Wilkinson was arrested in July after firing a gun twice at a 15-year-old boy near the Callahan-Kelly Playground in Brownsville, according to the criminal complaint cited by the New York Post. The teenager was struck in the foot and required surgery, while prosecutors said a .22-caliber bullet fragment was recovered from the wound. Wilkinson was charged with attempted murder, assault, and weapons offenses.
Prosecutors asked Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Janice Robinson to remand Wilkinson without bail. Instead, Robinson set bail at $5,000 cash or a $10,000 bond on August 4. Wilkinson posted the bail and was released.
On Tuesday, Wilkinson was scheduled to appear in court for proceedings in that earlier case, but was already in police custody over the new shooting.
The case has renewed scrutiny of Judge Robinson, who moved from Brooklyn’s civil court to the criminal bench and has faced criticism over a series of low- or no-bail decisions. A review by the Post of 13 defendants who recently appeared before Robinson found that eight were released without bail, including two defendants facing attempted murder charges.
