The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported 219 combat engagements along the frontline by 10 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with the most intensive attacks being concentrated on the Pokrovsk axis.
According to the daily evening update, covering the previous 24 hours of fighting, Russian forces carried out 68 airstrikes, dropped 249 guided aerial bombs (KABs), used 4,153 loitering munitions and shelled Ukrainian positions and populated areas at least 1,638 times during the day.
“A total of 38 attacks were repelled on the Pokrovsk axis,” the General Staff said, describing fighting near 17 settlements, including Dobropillia, Udachne and Molodetske.
Heaviest fighting near Pokrovsk
According to the AFU, Russian troops attempted to advance near Sofiivka, Pryiut, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Nove Shakhove, Stepy, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Bilytske, Vodiane, Krasnopillia, Novofedorivka, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Udachne, and Molodetske.
The preliminary figures indicated that 66 Russian servicemen were killed and five wounded in the sector.
Twelve vehicles, one artillery system, five pieces of specialized equipment, a drone control point, two ammunition depots, and 45 Russian shelters were destroyed.
Additionally, three vehicles, three artillery systems, one piece of specialized equipment, eight drone-control points, and 101 Russian shelters were damaged.
The AFU destroyed or suppressed at least 147 Russian drones of various types.
Frontline fighting
On the South Slobozhanskyi axis, Russian forces launched 15 assaults near Lyman, Prylipka, Starytsia, Izbytske, and Mala Vovcha, with one clash still ongoing at the time of the report.
The AFU repelled two Russian attacks near Kivsharivka and Tabaivka on the Kupiansk axis, while another combat engagement continued.
Six Russian attempts to advance were also repelled on the Lyman axis near Novoselivka, Drobyshcheve, Stavky, Lyman, and Dibrova, where one clash was still underway.
According to the General Staff, four Russian attacks were stopped near Ozerne, Kryva Luka, and Mykolaivka on the Sloviansk axis, with one assault reported near Yurkivka on the Kramatorsk axis.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, the AFU repelled eight Russian assaults near Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, and toward Osykove, Mykolaypillia, and Novohryhorivka.

219 combat engagements took place along the front line on September 15, with Ukrainian Defense Forces repelling 38 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, killing 70+ Russian troops.

“Since the beginning of this day, a total of 219 combat engagements have taken place. The enemy launched 68 airstrikes, dropping 249 guided glide bombs. In addition, it used 4,153 kamikaze drones to strike targets and carried out 1,638 attacks on populated areas and positions of our troops,” the military reported.
No enemy offensive activity was recorded in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, according to the General Staff.
During the day, in the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched 15 assaults on the positions of our units near Lyman, Prilipka, Starytsia, Izybytske, and Mala Vovcha; one more combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy assaults near Kivsharivka and Tabaivka; another engagement is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, our defenders successfully repelled six attempts by the invaders to advance near Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Stavky, Lyman, and Dibrova; another combat engagement is ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped four attempts by the invaders to advance near Ozerne, Kryva Luka, and Mykolaivka.
One enemy assault was recorded in the Kramatorsk direction near Yurkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as toward Osykove, Mykolaipillia, and Novohryhorivka; four more combat engagements are ongoing.
A total of 38 attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk direction.
