There were 197 combat clashes on the front line, with the Pokrovsk sector seeing the heaviest fighting, where Russian forces lost more than 50 troops.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was stated in the operational update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on September 21, 2026, posted on Facebook.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been a total of 197 combat clashes. The enemy carried out 50 airstrikes, dropping 168 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 6,137 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,930 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops,” the report said.
According to the General Staff, no offensive activity by Russian forces was recorded in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched seven attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units near Kozacha Lopan, Lyman, Symynivka, Rybalchyne, and Zarubynka. Two more combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled one Russian assault near Kivsharivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled two attempts by Russian forces to advance near Shyikivka, Novoselivka, and Derylove. One more combat engagement is ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the Ukrainian Forces stopped three attempts by Russian forces to advance near Ozerne, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
One Russian assault was recorded in the Kramatorsk sector near Fedorivka Druha.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 14 Russian assaults near Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Dovha Balka, Rozkishne and Novopavlivka. One more combat engagement is ongoing.
A total of 23 attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsk sector. Russian forces attempted to advance near Toretske, Sofiivka, Dobropillia, Novyi Donbas, Vilne, Bilytske, Hannivka, Krasnopodillia, Vodianske, Dorozhnie, Vasylivka, Myrne, Serhiivka and Novopavlivka. No offensive activity by the enemy was recorded in the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions.
During the day, in the South Slobozhanskyi direction , the enemy stormed the positions of our units seven times near Kozacha Lopan, Lyman, Symynivka, Rybальchyne and Zarubynka; two more combat engagements are still ongoing.
