President Trump had a stern rebuke Saturday of US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro after her stunning decision to withdraw charges against Olympic canoeist David Hearn for vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial’s reflecting pool.
“I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool,” Trump posted to Truth Social Saturday afternoon.
Trump’s comments came hours after Pirro, a Trump loyalist and former Fox News host, claimed in a court filing that her office had been misled by the US Department of Interior before bringing the charges against Hearn.
“I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM, that included the grass, which had a big 86 47 emblazoned in giant letters on it, and other elements of the surrounding area,” Trump wrote.
“There may have been some contractor difficulty, but the major damage was caused by VANDALS!”
Pirro’s filing cited her office’s responsibility in not bringing charges that are unlikely to prevail at trial – and said “DOI’s failure to fully and accurately provide information … undermined the government’s ability to abide by these responsibilities.”
It also blamed a Virginia-based contractor who was awarded a no-bid contract to apply sealant to the pool, saying it was “a result of flawed installation.”
Trump posted video of the reflecting pool Saturday that he claimed showed vandals shredding the sealant with knives.
“Look for yourselves at the VANDALISM that took place at The Reflecting Pool. The material is being cut with a knife or a box cutter, for all to see!” he wrote.
Hearn had been facing a felony that carries up to 10 years in prison before the feds dropped the charges. --->READ MORE HERE

The president said he disagreed “100%” with the top Washington prosecutor after her office abandoned vandalism charges for the former Olympian.
President Donald Trump publicly broke with one of his closest political allies Saturday, criticizing U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro over her office’s decision to drop a high-profile vandalism case involving the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Trump rejected the Friday decision from Pirro’s office to move to dismiss felony charges against former Olympic canoeist David Hearn after prosecutors concluded that newly disclosed evidence showed the damage to the pool stemmed largely from flawed contractor work rather than vandalism.
“I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I don’t know what she was thinking?”
Pirro’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The president insisted the incident “was a pure case of VANDALISM,” arguing that while there “may have been some contractor difficulty,” the “major damage was caused by VANDALS!” Trump pointed specifically to large “86 47" lettering emblazoned on the grass surrounding the pool as evidence.
The public rebuke was a rare display of disagreement between Trump and Pirro, a longtime ally and former Fox News host whom he installed as the top federal prosecutor in Washington last year.
On Friday, Pirro’s office said the Department of the Interior was at fault for the charges brought against Hearn, writing that her team would’ve refrained from bringing the initial indictment had the agency been more forthcoming about information it had. --->READ MORE HERE
