Celebrate diversity, right?
A marvelous display of New York City’s vibrant diversity took place early Sunday morning in Queens, and those who are close to the matter say that this kind of thing happens with increasing frequency. Isn’t that wonderful?
There are, of course, always naysayers, and so the racist, bigoted “Islamophobes” who run the New York Post framed their story this way: “A godless, hammer-wielding maniac vandalized a statue of the Virgin Mary outside of a Queens house of worship, in what diocese officials said was the latest in a series of vandalizing attacks against the church.
Well, that’s one way to look at it. But did the New York Post’s hidebound, ethnocentric editors ever consider the possibility that the man whom they call a “godless, hammer-wielding maniac” was actually a fearless warrior against idolatry?
The Qur’an, that inexhaustible source of wisdom and insight for all those who aren’t incurably chauvinistic and “Islamophobic,” tells us that the patriarch Abraham excoriated his father in no uncertain terms for preferring his idols to Allah: “Indeed, we are guiltless of you and all that you worship besides Allah. We have done with you. And there has arisen between us and you hostility and hatred forever, until you believe in Allah alone.” (60:4)
Might this alleged “maniac” in Queens simply have wanted to express that sacred hostility and hatred by destroying a source of idolatry? See the video here. The hearty young man who does the deed certainly looks as if he could be one of the city’s newly-arrived Mamdani voters, fresh off the plane from Yemen or Afghanistan or Pakistan and ready to express his beautiful faith in a new setting.
The Post, unable to accept the Even Newer York that the city’s Marxist Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani is bravely forging, grumpily reported that “cops said the blasphemous desecration happened around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday at St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church in Dutch Kills.” In “video provided by the Diocese of Brooklyn, which also covers Queens,” what the Post calls “a masked creep in shorts and a T-shirt” is seen “hopping a fence into the church’s yard.”
Then “the footage shows the heathen whacking the Mother of God with a hammer, knocking the statue so hard against the wall that its head fell off, and then running away.” Also, “diocese officials said at least three other instances of property damage at the same church were recorded so far this year.”
Have you ever walked through a museum and wondered why so many ancient statues have the noses broken off, and paintings have the eyes scratched out? Of course, some of the damage took place unintentionally with the passage of time, but some of it also occurred because to deface, literally, the face of the image was sufficient in Islamic law to render it no longer a representation of the human body, and thus no longer a temptation to idolatry. --->READ MORE HERE

Cops said the blasphemous desecration happened around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday at St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church in Dutch Kills.
Video provided by the Diocese of Brooklyn, which also covers Queens, showed a masked creep in shorts and a T-shirt hopping a fence into the church’s yard.
The footage shows the heathen whacking the Mother of God with a hammer, knocking the statue so hard against the wall that its head fell off, and then running away.
The incident was being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force Unit, cops said.
But diocese officials said at least three other instances of property damage at the same church were recorded so far this year.
A statue of the hallow St. Francis outside the church was defaced and the sidewalk graffitied on March 21, according to the diocese. --->READ MORE HERE
