Russian forces carried out 216 combat clashes across the front line as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, with the heaviest fighting concentrated on the Pokrovsk axis.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported that Russian forces launched one missile strike using two missiles, conducted 68 air strikes, and dropped 213 guided aerial bombs (KABs) over the course of the day.
Russian forces also deployed 6,428 kamikaze drones and shelled populated areas, alongside Ukrainian positions 2,294 times.
Pokrovsk axis bears the brunt of strikes
Russian forces launched 23 attacks on the Pokrovsk axis, attempting to advance near the settlements of Toretske, Shakhove, Sofiivka, Chernihivka, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne and Novopidhorodne, with one clash still ongoing, the General Staff reported.
The AFU eliminated 40 Russian soldiers and wounded six others in the area, while destroying two motor vehicles, three units of special equipment and one enemy drone control point.
Four Russian artillery systems and one motor vehicle were damaged, with the AFU destroying or suppressing 340 drones of various types.
Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk axes see heavy fighting
The AFU repelled 18 Russian assaults on the Kostiantynivka axis near Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka and Novopavlivka, the General Staff reported.
On the Sloviansk axis, 17 Russian attempts to advance near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Pyskunivka and Ryznykivka were stopped, with one clash still underway at the time of the report.
Lyman and Kupiansk axes
Russian forces made 11 attempts to advance on the Lyman axis in the areas of Olhivka, Shyikivka, Stavky, Drobysheve, Dibrova, Ozerne and Lyman, with one clash ongoing, according to the General Staff.
However, no assault operations were recorded on the Kupiansk axis.

On the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions , the enemy conducted three attacks; one combat engagement is ongoing. On the Kupyansk direction , no enemy assault actions were recorded.
Eleven attempts by the invaders to advance were recorded on the Lyman direction in the areas of Olhivka, Shyikivka, Stavky, Drobysheve, Dibrova, Ozerne, and Lyman; one more combat engagement is ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction , the Defense Forces successfully stopped 17 attempts by the invaders to advance near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Pyskunivka, and Riznykivka; one more combat engagement is ongoing.
Two enemy assaults were recorded on the Kramatorsk direction in the areas of Nykyforivka and Markove.
On the Kostiantynivka direction , the Defense Forces repelled 18 enemy assaults near Ivanopilia, Kostiantynivka, Ilinivka, Novoselivka, and Novopavlivka.
In total, the enemy carried out 23 attacks on the Pokrovsk direction . The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of the populated places Toretske, Shakhove, Sofiivka, Chernihivka, Hannivka, Novyi Donbas, Dobropillia, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novopidhorodne.
