On the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions since the beginning of the day, the enemy has conducted 54 shellings of our troops' positions and populated areas, including one using a multiple launch rocket system.
During the day, on the South-Slobozhanskyi direction , the enemy stormed our units' positions 16 times in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, and towards Chaikivka, Kozacha Lopan, Izbystske, Anyskyne, Ambarnе, and Zapadne.
On the Kupiansk direction today, the enemy conducted two assaults on the Defense Forces' positions in the area of Petropavlivka and towards Shyikivka. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
Eight attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled on the Lyman direction towards Drobysheve, Lyman, Ozerne, and in the areas of Novoselivka and Novomykhailivka. One combat engagement is ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction , the Defense Forces successfully stopped 19 attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, Riznykivka, and towards Rai-Oleksandrivka and Pyskunivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction , the Russian invaders carried out four attacks in the areas of Pryvillia, Nykyforivka, and towards Malynivka.
On the Kostiantynivka direction , the Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and towards Stepanivka. Three combat engagements are still ongoing.
The enemy carried out twenty-nine attacks in the Pokrovsk direction . The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske, Novooleksandrivka, and towards Toretske, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Svitle, Shevchenko, Matiasheve, Novyi Donbas, and Novohryshyne. A total of 226 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian troops were recorded on July 28, with the heaviest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces launched 29 assaults.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 22:00, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 226 combat engagements. The aggressor carried out 59 airstrikes using 190 guided aerial bombs, launched 6,125 kamikaze drones, and conducted 2,047 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas," the statement said.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out 54 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one involving a multiple launch rocket system.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched 16 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Starytsia and Lyman, as well as toward Chaikivka, Kozacha Lopan, Izbytske, Anyskyno, Ambarne and Zapadne.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops launched two assaults near Petropavlivka and toward Shyikivka. One engagement was still ongoing at the time of reporting.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight Russian attempts to advance toward Drobysheve, Lyman and Ozerne, as well as near Novoselivka and Novomykhailivka. One battle was still underway.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 19 Russian assaults near Kryva Luka, Zakitne and Riznykivka, as well as toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Pyskunivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops launched four attacks near Pryvillia, Nykyforivka and toward Malynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled 27 Russian assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka and toward Stepanivka. Three engagements were still ongoing.
The Pokrovsk sector remained the epicenter of the fighting. Russian forces carried out 29 attacks, attempting to advance near Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Molodetske and Novooleksandrivka, as well as toward Toretske, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Svitle, Shevchenko, Matiasheve, Novyi Donbas and Novohryshyne.
