War update: 200 clashes on front lines, Pokrovsk sector hottest:

There were 200 combat clashes on the front over the past day, with Ukrainian forces repelling 30 enemy attacks on the Pokrovsk axis.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a situation update as of 22:00 on May 8 published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of this day, 200 combat clashes have occurred. The enemy carried out one missile strike, using one missile, and conducted 12 airstrikes, dropping 55 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it used 4,936 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,265 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian positions," the report said.

According to the General Staff, on the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, there were seven clashes. The enemy carried out 21 attacks on settlements and positions, including one using a multiple rocket launcher system.

On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna axis, the enemy launched 12 assaults near Prylipka, Vovchansk, Lyman, Starytsia, and toward Izbytske, Chaikivka, and Ternova.

On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy carried out one offensive action toward Radkivka.

On the Lyman axis, four assaults were launched toward Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Lyman.

On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled two attempts to advance toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kalenyky.

On the Kramatorsk axis, one attack was carried out toward Tykhonivka.

On the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 17 assaults near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. One engagement is still ongoing.

On the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy launched 30 attacks, attempting to advance near Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, Muravka, Zatyshok, Ivanivka, Dorozhnie, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, and toward Serhiivka. Two engagements are still ongoing. --->READ MORE HERE

Situation on the main routes

In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two attacks by the invaders towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kaleniki.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy launched one attack in the direction of Tikhonivka.

In the Pokrovsky direction, the invaders tried 30 times to push our soldiers out of the occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, Muravka, Zatyshok, Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne and in the direction of Sergiivka.
