Over the past day, 195 combat engagements took place at the front. The fiercest battles continued in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and several other sectors, where the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses. This was reported by the General Staff of Ukraine, according to UNN.
The enemy launched 76 air strikes, dropping 201 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 4,851 kamikaze drones for strikes and carried out 1,994 shellings of settlements and positions of our troops,

In the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions , four combat engagements occurred; the enemy launched two air strikes using three guided bombs and carried out 71 shellings of settlements and positions of our troops, five of which involved multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi direction , the enemy stormed the positions of our units eight times in the areas of Vovchanski Khutory, Dvorichanske, Starytsia, Veterynarne, and towards Ternova, Okhrimivka, and Kolodyazne. One combat engagement is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction , our defenders stopped one enemy assault in the direction of Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction , Ukrainian soldiers repelled seven attempts by the invaders to advance towards the settlements of Lyman, Yampil, Drobysheve, and Zarichne.
In the Slovyansk direction , the Defense Forces successfully repelled one attempt by the invaders to advance towards Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction , the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
The Defense Forces successfully repelled 16 enemy assaults in the Kostiantynivka direction near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Toretske, Shakhove, Sofiivka, and towards Vilne. One more combat engagement is still ongoing.

A total of 195 combat clashes were recorded between Ukrainian forces and Russian invaders along the front line as of 22:00 on May 17, with the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors remaining the hottest.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in its operational update published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of this day, there have been 195 combat clashes in total. The enemy carried out 76 airstrikes and dropped 201 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it used 4,851 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,994 strikes on settlements and positions of our troops, the update said.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, there were four clashes. The enemy carried out two airstrikes, used three guided bombs, and conducted 71 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, five of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
