Democrat Bill Would Flood Every School, Church, And Hospital With Illegal Squatters:
Union bosses support this reckless policy because they are more concerned with politics than with protecting teachers and students.
At the State of the Union address, congressional Democrats affirmed that they do not believe the government’s first duty is to protect U.S. citizens. When they all remained seated, it was a rare moment of honesty for a party that abandoned the best interests of Americans long ago.
One need look no further for evidence than the fact that 30 Democrats are cosponsoring a bill to make schools and hospitals safe havens for illegal immigrants. Called the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act (PSLA), the bill would prohibit any “immigration enforcement actions” within 1,000 feet of a school, daycare, playground, hospital, or doctor’s office.
The PSLA would create a huge incentive for illegal immigrants to be present at places full of children, patients, and those responsible for caring for them. This makes it especially concerning that both the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers have thrown their support behind the policy. Students and patients would be less safe as illegal immigrants, beyond the reach of ICE, flood schools, hospitals, churches, and surrounding neighborhoods.
The bill would also tie up law enforcement with needless red tape. The PSLA would create an impossible and ever-changing map of where ICE can and cannot carry out its mission. Especially in high-density urban centers, ICE officials would be forced to make decisions based not on what is best for public safety but instead on proximity to the nearest urgent care or preschool.
The bill also turns public libraries, courthouses, and houses of worship into safe zones for illegal immigrants. Most egregiously, it also includes welfare offices and active sites of a “march, rally, or parade.” The bill’s supporters want to ensure no one stands in the way of illegal immigrants getting public benefits or rallying for leftist causes.
If activists wanted to protect a group of illegal immigrants, all they’d need to do is protest within 1,000 feet of whomever they wanted to shield from arrest. With this policy in place, an untold number of “libraries” and “parades” would spring into existence. The PSLA would render ICE useless under the pretext of reform, allowing exceptions only for “exigent circumstances,” such as catching a suspect who is an imminent terror threat. --->READ MORE HERE

Lawmakers, Faith Groups Push Bill To Prevent ICE Raids on Churches, Sensitive Locations:
Lawmakers and religious groups are speaking out in support of a bill that would largely protect immigrants from Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids within 1,000 feet of “sensitive locations” such as hospitals, schools, and churches, adding to growing pushback against President Donald Trump’s announcement that he was ending a similar internal government policy.
Rep. Jesús G. Garcia, an Illinois Democrat, reintroduced the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act on Saturday (Feb. 8), along with 13 Democratic co-sponsors, including Reps. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, Janice Schakowsky of Illinois, and Jasmine Crockett of Texas.
The bill would bar immigration enforcement actions at or near churches and an array of other locations — such as organizations that assist children or pregnant women, rape crisis centers, sites of funerals, weddings, or other “public religious ceremonies,” Social Security offices and polling places — except “under exigent circumstances.”
“No one — no child in the classroom, no mother in a hospital, no family at a place of worship — should live in fear that an immigration raid should shatter their lives in the very spaces meant to protect them,” Garcia said on Thursday, when he discussed the bill on the House floor.
Garcia went on to note that in addition to immigrants skipping appointments out of fear of being detained by ICE officers, “churches are turning to virtual worship services so that they will not put their parish at risk.”
“We cannot become a government that normalizes cruelty,” Garcia said.
A companion bill was also introduced in the U.S. Senate by Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and 23 Democratic and Independent co-sponsors, including Sens. Raphael Warnock of Georgia, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
“Allowing ICE to invade spaces where people access health care, education, justice, and prayer is cruel and unnecessary, as well as a threat to public safety,” Blumenthal said in a statement. “When people are too frightened to seek medical care or report a crime, the entire community suffers. The Protecting Sensitive Locations Act establishes fundamental safeguards for our immigrant neighbors who have lived here for decades, worked hard, raised families, and enriched our communities.” --->READ MORE HERE
