Dr. Anthony Fauci Called Back Before Congress After His Requests to ‘delete’ Government Emails Uncovered by Sen. Rand Paul; Fauci Ordered NIH Employees to Destroy Records Despite Telling Congress He Never Deleted Documents, and other C-Virus related stories

Dr. Anthony Fauci called back before Congress after his requests to ‘delete’ government emails uncovered by Sen. Rand Paul:
Dr. Anthony Fauci has been asked to return to Congress to answer questions about emails uncovered by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) showing the former White House COVID-19 czar asking colleagues to “delete” messages, according to copies obtained by The Post.
Fauci, who helmed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for decades, in two email chains asked other public health officials— including then-National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins — to send his emails to the trash bin after reading them.
One of the communications from Feb. 2, 2020, revealed the ex-NIAID head imploring Collins to “Please delete this e-mail after you read it” — a request that followed an all-hands-on-deck Feb. 1, 2020, conference call with top NIH officials about the rapidly spreading pandemic from Wuhan, China.
In one section of the email thread that month, British medical researcher Jeremy Farrar cautioned it was “Critical that responsible, respected scientists and agencies get ahead of the science and the narrative of this and are not reacting to reports which could be very damaging.”
The request and the preceding call prompted a now-infamous scientific paper, titled “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2,” published the following month, that dismissed the so-called “lab leak theory” of the origin of COVID-19, a GOP-led committee investigation previously uncovered. --->READ MORE HERE

Fauci ordered NIH employees to destroy records despite telling Congress he never deleted documents:
Sen. Rand Paul is calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci to reappear before Congress after emails were uncovered that contradict his testimony to lawmakers. Here’s what you need to know about the latest developments in the Paul-Fauci dispute:
The contradictory evidence
Committee obtains emails showing record destruction orders:
  1. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee obtained documents showing that Dr. Fauci, former director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during height of COVID-19 pandemic, directed NIH employees to destroy records
  2. “These documents suggest your direct involvement in efforts to conceal information related to the Committee’s investigation and appear to contradict your previous testimony before Congress,” Paul, Kentucky Republican, said in letter Tuesday to Dr. Fauci
  3. Letter is latest salvo in vicious five-year battle between Paul and Dr. Fauci over government’s handling of pandemic
  4. Committee wants Dr. Fauci to appear before Congress by end of year, with dates provided in October, November and December
The Congressional testimony contradiction
Fauci denied deleting records under oath:
  1. During his June 2024 testimony before House Select Subcommittee on Coronavirus Pandemic, Dr. Fauci was asked if he had ever deleted records, and he responded, “No”
  2. He was similarly asked if he had ever attempted to obstruct Freedom of Information Act or release of public documents, and if he had deleted emails or records related to Wuhan lab or origins of virus
  3. Dr. Fauci again responded “no” to those questions
  4. Letter notes these denials contradict newly obtained email evidence
