Video Shows Moment Feds Arrest Ex-Judge Joel Cano and Wife for Allegedly Sheltering Illegal Tren de Aragua Gang Member; Ex-Judge, Wife Into Custody After Claims of Hosting Tren de Aragua Member in Las Cruces

Video shows moment feds arrest ex-Judge Joel Cano and wife for allegedly sheltering illegal Tren de Aragua gang member:
New video captured the moment a recently retired New Mexico judge and his wife were hauled away in cuffs by the feds for allegedly sheltering a suspected Tren de Aragua gangbanger at their home.
The footage, shot by KFOX14 News, showed ex-Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Jose “Joel” Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, being taken into custody following the federal raid at their Las Cruces home on Thursday.
At one point, the seemingly calm Democratic judge could be seen with his hands clasped behind his back as he spoke to a heavily armed FBI agent on the sidewalk.
His wife was spotted being escorted away in handcuffs by a female Homeland Security Investigations officer.
The judge was subsequently hit with a tampering with evidence charge, while his spouse was charged with conspiracy to tamper.
The raid came soon after it was revealed that Cano had quietly tendered his resignation last month after the couple were accused of harboring Cristhian Ortega-Lopez — an accused illegal migrant who the feds say is a member of the violent Venezuelan gang.
Immigration authorities had nabbed the 23-year-old alleged gang member at the couple’s home on Feb. 28. --->READ MORE HERE
Ex-judge, wife into custody after claims of hosting Tren de Aragua member in Las Cruces:
A former judge and his wife were taken into custody after authorities raided their home in Las Cruces following accusations that they had an alleged Tren de Aragua member living in their home.
KFOX14/CBS4 were on the scene Thursday afternoon when the home of former Dona Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy Cano, when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement executed a search warrant and a probable cause arrest warrant, and both were taken into custody.
A spokesperson for ICE confirmed they were both taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation led by Homeland Security Investigations.
Cano was charged with tampering with evidence, while Nancy was charged with conspiracy to tamper.
The raid comes after Cano had resigned in March following accusations that he and his wife, Nancy, had hosted Cristhian Ortega Lopez, an undocumented migrant from Venezuela, and an alleged TdA member.
Investigators believe Nancy hired Lopez to work on the home and then later offered their place for Lopez to stay.
Documents from the investigation indicate Lopez displayed clear indicators of association with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, including clothing, tattoos, voicemails, and text messages. --->READ MORE HERE
