There were 129 combat engagements on the frontline since the beginning of the day on May 20. The Russians are attacking the Pokrovsk sector the most, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the day, 129 combat engagements took place, Russians launched a missile, 78 guided aerial bombs, 984 kamikaze drones, and fired over 3,500 times at Ukrainian settlements and positions.
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 Russian attacks near Stroivka and in the area of Vovchansk.
Ukrainian troops stopped 24 Russian assault attacks near Kopanky, Ridkodub, Novyi Myr, Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, and Torske in the Lyman sector. 8 combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Russians conducted an offensive in the area of Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 6 Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, and towards Predtechyno and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 10 times today near Druzhba, Petrivka, and Toretsk. Ukrainian Defense Forces steadfastly restrained the attack and repelled all Russian attacks.
Russian troops are intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk sector. Russians conducted 37 offensive attacks during the day. Russians' activity was recorded in the areas of Yablunivka, Novoolenivka, Malynivka, Shevchenko Pershe, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Troitske, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka. 4 combat clashes are still ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 144 Russian troops and wounded 155 in this sector today. Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Russian armored combat vehicle, 3 cars, 5 motorcycles, an ATV, 11 drones, and a Russian drone control antenna.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 22 Russian attacks in the areas of Vilne Pole, Pryvilne, Zelene Pole, Kostiantynopil, Bahatyr, Burlatske, Vesele, and in the direction of Odradne. Fighting is still ongoing in 4 locations. --->READ MORE HERE
On May 20, as many as 129 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders occurred along the front lines. The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest spot, with the enemy launching 37 offensive actions there.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in its 22:00 situation update on Tuesday, May 20.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been 129 combat engagements. The enemy launched one missile strike and 57 airstrikes, using one missile and 78 guided aerial bombs. It also deployed 984 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 3,500 shellings of settlements and our troop positions,” the post reads.
In the Kharkiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy attacks toward Stroivka and near Vovchansk.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 assaults near Kopanky, Ridkodub, Novyi Myr, Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, and Torske. Eight battles are still ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Russians attempted an assault near Bilohorivka, without success.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks near Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, and toward Predtechyne and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians conducted 10 assaults near Druzhba, Petrivka, and Toretsk. All were repelled.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces launched 37 offensive actions near Yablunivka, Novooleksiivka, Malynivka, Shevchenko Pershe, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Troitske, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka. Four clashes are still ongoing. According to preliminary estimates, today in this sector Ukrainian defenders eliminated 144 enemy troops and wounded 155. They also destroyed one armored combat vehicle, three vehicles, five motorcycles, a quad bike, 11 UAVs, and a UAV control antenna.
