General Staff reports 190 combat engagements on frontline on Dec 12:

On December 12, there were 190 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders on the frontline, nearly half of them occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors.

That is according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine update at 22:00 on December 12, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the day, 190 combat engagements have been recorded. Russian invaders carried out 31 airstrikes across Ukraine, dropped 61 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 568 kamikaze drones. Additionally, the enemy conducted 3,194 attacks on our forces and populated areas," the statement reads.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian positions five times near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, and Starytsia, with all attacks repelled by the Defense Forces.

Preliminary estimates of enemy losses in this sector include 92 personnel killed or wounded. The Ukrainian forces destroyed one artillery system, one vehicle, and 20 enemy drones, while damaging three more vehicles.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched seven assaults on the Ukrainian positions near Synkivka, Zahryzove, and Zapadne. Fighting continues near Dvorichna.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian forces attempted to advance 21 times near the areas of Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Lozova, Nadiya, Makiivka, Terny, and the Serebrianskyi Forest. The Ukrainian defenders maintain a strong defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Three engagements are ongoing near Terny.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar and in the directions of Stupochky and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, the invaders attacked four times near Toretsk, with two engagements currently ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, high-intensity fighting persists, with the number of engagements rising to 46. The invaders continue their pressure near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenska, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Shevchenkove, and Chumatske.
