Ex-Hochul and Cuomo aide and husband worked as foreign agents for China, splurged millions on mansion, Hawaii condo, Ferrari: feds
A former high-ranking aide for Gov. Kathy Hochul and disgraced Gov. Andrew Cuomo was arrested along with her husband Tuesday on charges she acted as a foreign agent for China in exchange for millions of dollars in kickbacks and fancy perks such as salted ducks.
The damning 64-page indictment accuses Linda Sun, 41, and her husband, Christopher Hu, 40, of laundering and splurging their corrupt gains on a gaudy $4 million Manhasset mansion, a $2 million second home in a Honolulu high-rise and luxury cars like a 2024 Ferrari Roma.
Sun shadily used her position under Hochul and Cuomo – who are unnamed but clearly referenced in the court documents – to turn the governor’s office into a virtual mouthpiece for the People’s Republic of China and Chinese Community Party, the bombshell indictment contends.
At several points, Sun bragged to Chinese consulate officials about effectively blocking Cuomo and Hochul from meeting with or publicly even mentioning Taiwan, including when the disputed island sent 200,000 much-needed masks to New York during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, documents state.
“The defendant Linda Sun received substantial economic and other benefits from representatives of the PRC government and the CCP, including the facilitation of millions of dollars in transactions for the PRC-based business activities of Sun’s husband, the defendant Chris Hu,” the indictment reads in part.
An emotionless Sun and Hu both pleaded not guilty to sprawling charges of violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling and money laundering conspiracy during a 30-minute arraignment hearing in Brooklyn federal court Tuesday afternoon.
Both Sun and Hu were released on $1.5 million and $500,000 bonds, respectively, but will have their travel limited to New York City, Long Island, Maine and New Hampshire while the case is pending.
They declined to comment when reporters asked them questions as they left court, but Sun’s lawyer, Jarrod Schaeffer, said, “Our client is understandably upset that these charges have been brought,” and added that “we are looking forward to addressing the allegations in the proper venue, which is in court.” --->READ MORE HERE

Democrats blame Russia to pretend away the Chinese dragon in the room:
“Russia, Russia, Russia” — it’s back, says the Harris-Biden administration, and just in time for the fall election season.
Once again, Democrats want to talk about Russian election interference.
Attorney General Merrick Garland aims to convince voters that Russian meddling is the main thing they should worry about as Nov. 5 approaches.
Garland rolled out new charges Wednesday against two Russia Today media figures, and announced the seizures of some allegedly connected Internet domains to add some drama.
Personally involving the attorney general in publicizing the charges is an obvious effort to get them more news attention — and a signal to party spokespeople that they should be playing this up against Donald Trump.
For years now, Russian interference has been the Democrats’ all-purpose excuse for suppressing bad news.
Remember when they lined up a bunch of former intelligence officers to swear that this newspaper’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation?
The Russians aren’t alone, however — and the Democrats seem a little overly eager to distract from what the Chinese and the Iranians have been up to.
Chinese influence has penetrated deep into American politics in the years since Hunter and Jim Biden went into business with a state-run Chinese company, and Hunter agreed to represent the man he called the “f***ing spy chief of China.”
A Chinese spy served as a driver for the late California Sen. Dianne Feinstein for 20 years. A female Chinese agent penetrated the circle of California Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Just this week, after a six-months-long investigation, The Washington Post reported extensive Chinese influence in San Francisco, including the use of Chinese agents and diplomats to provoke violent protests and silence critics of the Chinese regime in the city.
And it’s not just California: Xi Jinping’s agents are burrowing into American politics across the nation, and a lot of them seem to end up cozying up to Democrats. --->READ MORE HERE
