Since the beginning of July 28, 73 combat engagements have taken place at the front, with Russian forces most actively trying to storm the Pokrovsk direction
Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.
Border settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from shelling by Russia. Artillery and mortar fire affected the areas of Ulanove, Basivka, Yunakivka, Sadky, Velyka Pysarivka, Karpovychi, Mykolaivka, Ponomarenky, Bachivsk, and Popivka.
At the same time, the Kharkiv region is under constant bombardment by Russian aircraft. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has launched two air strikes from Belgorod and Shebekino using six aerial guided bombs, targeting the Vovchansk area. Additionally, Russia has fired two Kh-35U anti-ship missiles at the city of Kharkiv.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces launched three attacks near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, with one firefight currently underway. In the Kupyansk sector, Russia assaulted Novoosynove, and the battle is still ongoing.
Additionally, the occupying army bombarded Petropavlivka, Tabaivka, and Bohuslavka using five aerial guided bombs.
In the Lyman sector, the invading army attacked Ukrainian positions 12 times near Makiivka, Novoserhiivka, Nevske, Terny, Novosadove, and Torske. Ukrainian defenders repelled five of these attacks, while seven are still ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Russia launched five attacks near Spirne and Ivan-Daryivka during the day but was ultimately defeated in these clashes.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted six assault operations near Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka. On July 27, 2024, the Russian occupation forces continued offensive operations in the area of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. Despite the Russians' statements about the advance, no confirmed changes in the front line have been recorded. Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy in several directions.

Chasiv Yar: the situation
According to available information, on July 26-27, Russian troops carried out offensive actions in the following directions:
- in the area of Chasiv Yar;
- north of Chasiv Yar (Hryhorivka district);
- southeast of Chasiv Yar (near Andriivka).
The Russians claim that Russian troops are advancing west of Kalynivka (north of Chasiv Yar). However, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), these claims have not yet been confirmed.
Despite intense attacks by Russian troops, no confirmed changes in the front line were recorded during this period.
