Russian activity near Chasiv Yar remains high — Ukraine's National Guard spokesman:
Ruslan Muzychuk, spokesman for the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), reported that the Russian army has intensified its actions south of Chasiv Yar, particularly in the areas of Klishchiyivka and Andriivka
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
"The situation around Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region remains highly active. The Russians are not only making assault attempts but also using aircraft. Recently, Russian troops have stepped up their actions south of Chasiv Yar, near Klishchiyivka and Andriivka, to improve their tactical position and possibly prepare for further activity around Ivanivske," Muzychuk said.
He added that Ukrainian defenders are holding the line and repelling all assaults, despite the Russians using more armored vehicles and sometimes tanks.
"Last week, one of our brigades destroyed five tanks in this sector. This shows that the occupying army is using tanks to reinforce their assaults," Muzychuk noted.
  • On June 4, Dmytro Kozhubenko, a National Guard officer, said that in the Bakhmut sector, the Russian army was actively storming Chasiv Yar and its surroundings.
  • On June 6, the head of the Chasiv Yar city military administration, Serhii Chaus, said that rescuers were no longer coming, but the evacuation was continuing.
