Russian forces losing ground near Kreminna amid ongoing counterattacks: ISW analysis:

The Russian occupation army is facing setbacks on the front lines due to continuous Ukrainian counteroffensives to the west of Kreminna

This is according to a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The ISW report highlights recent enemy advancements south of Kreminna. Geolocation footage released on April 8 indicates minimal progress made by Russian forces in the vicinity of the chalk quarry to the south of Kreminna.

On April 9, a Russian military blogger reported ongoing battles for tactical positions near the quarry area, with limited gains claimed by Russian forces.

“Russian sources also claimed that there was heavy fighting near Terny (west of Kreminna), but that Russian forces are losing limited positions to constant Ukrainian counterattacks”, the report stated.

Analysts also suggest that the occupiers may resort to heavy bombardment with precision bombs on Ukrainian positions to facilitate further advances toward Chasiv Yar, similar to their tactics in Avdiivka. --->READ MORE HERE

No Russian troops in Chasiv Yar and surrounding area - Lieutenant Colonel Voloshyn:

Lieutenant Colonel Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping, says that Chasiv Yar is controlled by units of Ukraine's Armed Forces and Defense Forces

He said this on Espreso TV.

"As of this morning, Russian troops fired 14 times at localities in the Donetsk region. That is, today in the Bakhmut sector Ukrainian troops repelled 29 attacks in the areas of Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Chasiv Yar," noted Voloshyn.

According to a spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, Chasiv Yar remains a Ukrainian town.

"The town is controlled by Ukraine's Armed Forces and the Defense Forces. There are no Russian troops in the city and its neighborhood. During small assaults by enemy groups on armored vehicles, Ukrainian troops repelled them.
