Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Russian troops continue active offensive actions in the Kupyansk forest, trying to break through the Ukrainian defense and advance towards Kupyansk

"The situation in the Kupyansk sector remains difficult. The Russian enemy continues to conduct active offensive actions in the Kupyansk forest, trying to break through the defenses of our troops and advance towards the city. Intense hostilities in this area began in October 2023, and since then the fierce struggle has not stopped," Syrskyi said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Russian army storms settlements, shells them with artillery and uses aviation every day. Now Russian troops are storming our positions in the area of Synkivka with the aim of further blocking Kupyansk," he added.

The general stressed that the commanders and staffs of Ukrainian units are well aware of the situation, constantly conducting reconnaissance, analyzing Russia's actions and making all necessary decisions.

“Ukrainian soldiers are giving an adequate response to Russian enemy and destroying its plans. The situation in this area is constantly escalating, but Ukrainian Defense Forces manage to destroy Russia's offensive potential and inflict significant losses," Ukraine' Ground Forces Commander noted. --->READ MORE HERE

Ukrainian forces destroy bridge near occupied Mariupol, thwarting construction of new railway links from Russia:

The Ukrainian forces have destroyed a railway bridge built by the Russians over the Kalmius River near the occupied city of Mariupol, which was intended to be part of the overland railway route from Russia to Russian-occupied Crimea.

Details: In particular, the structure of a bridge located in the village of Hranitne near occupied Mariupol has been destroyed. Fuel tanks and engineering vehicles were also burned.

Andriushchenko noted that the bridge was part of the Russian railway that was supposed to connect Mariupol and the city of Dzhankoi (Crimea) with Russia's Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog. It was a "tie-in" to the Donetsk branch of the Mariupol-Aslanove-Kalchyk-Volnovakha railway.

The new route would have resolved the issues of military and civilian logistics and reduced dependence on the Crimean Bridge.

"The issue of launching a direct railway from Russia is now out of the question for a while," Andriushchenko said.

The official added that the Russian military had attempted to shoot down the missiles with air defence systems, but to no avail, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces seized the moment and managed to locate the newly deployed anti-aircraft missile systems in the area of Mariupol. --->READ MORE HERE
