Federal air marshal on your flight? Not likely — they’re on the ground at the Southern border
History is at times our greatest teacher and can help us predict the future if we listen to the lessons already learned. In September of 1970, President Nixon was blindsided when the terrorist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) successfully hijacked three jumbo jets and later blew them up in Jordan. At the time, there were just 12 air marshals, and they weren’t flying regularly.
On June 14, 1985, President Reagan was blindsided when TWA flight 847 was hijacked shortly after takeoff from Athens. The passengers endured three days of being held captive, and one American, Navy diver Robert Stethem, was killed. The U.S. had seven air marshals available; yet again, they weren’t flying.
On Sept. 11, 2001, President Bush was blindsided when terrorists hijacked four jumbo jets and crashed them into the twin towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. There were only 33 active air marshals.
Since then, the number of air marshals has increased considerably, to an estimated 3,000 — but not all of them are making sure the skies are safe.
Highly specialized federal air marshals have been taken out of the skies and deployed to the southern border. --->READ MORE HERE
Air marshals claim Biden is risking ‘another 9/11’ by shifting them from flights to border:
America is risking “another 9/11” by diverting air marshals off planes and onto other operations, the president of the Air Marshal National Council warned in a direct address to Joe Biden.
In recent weeks, federal marshals have been diverted from their usual jobs as covert travelers assessing and monitoring terrorist threats to help at the US-Mexico border, according to Sonja Labosco of the Air Marshal National Council.
She told FOX News marshals are now present on less than 1% of flights and instead sent to assist Border Patrol dealing with migrants, who are currently overwhelming the southern border.
“Let’s stop another 9/11,” she said in a message to President Biden.
“There have been numerous incidents — a level 4 threat which means someone tried to breach a cockpit two days ago on a Southwest flight. So the message is, ‘Sir, please replace the air marshals on the border. Stop taking them out of the sky and let us do the job that we were trained to do.”
During normal operations, marshals are on board more than 5% of all flights, Labosco said.
“These ground-based duties that they’re pulling us out of the sky to go to are demolishing out chances of stopping another 9/11,” she added referring to the attacks on the World Trade Center in September 2001. --->READ MORE HERE
