Man uses sword to behead young mother in front of neighbors, police say

A man used a sword to behead a young mother-of-two as a group of witnesses stood by stunned, according to reports.

The head was underneath the car and she was laying at the back of the car," neighbor Chapel Thorborne told reporters. "Just severed ... and then they covered her up.

The graphic nature of the woman's death in California has prompted the county's sheriff's office to provide counselors for deputies who were first to arrive on the scene in San Carlos, KABC reported, and neighbors.

The woman and the suspect, Jose Solano Landaeta, were reportedly in an ongoing relationship. News outlets said the woman had filed a restraining order against Landaeta in April and he was ordered to stay away from the victim. KGO said Landaeta returned to the scene of the crime as officers were investigating the unidentified woman's death. He was taken into custody and placed under arrest for murder.

Authorities were tight-lipped at a news conference to discuss the killing Thursday. Officials would only say the woman, described as a being in her mid-20s with two young daughters, was killed with "a stabbing instrument." --->READ MORE HERE

Beheaded Mom Identified and Guess What? The Killer Is an Illegal Immigrant with an Expired Visa:

The young mother who was brutally beheaded last Thursday has been identified as 27-year-old Karina Castro. Castro was beheaded with a sword just before noon last Thursday in broad daylight as shocked neighbors watched. The attack took place in front of her apartment building. An earlier report stated she was 25 years old.

The alleged killer, Jose Solano Landaeta, reportedly cut off Castro’s head with a sword. He left her head under the car that her body was in. Cops swarmed in minutes later to find the grisly crime scene.

Shortly thereafter, Landaeta returned to the location with two friends and was promptly arrested.

Landaeta is the father of Castro’s one-year-old toddler. Castro also had a seven-year-old daughter.The Santa Monica Observer is reporting Landaeta was in the country illegally, claiming he came to the United States from Venezuela ten years ago on a tourist visa and never left. --->READ MORE HERE
