118K Migrants Apprehended in July in Texas-Based Border Sectors:
Agents in the five Texas-based Border Patrol Sectors apprehended more than 118,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border in July. In response, Texas Governor Greg Abbott expanded his migrant busing operation to include the sanctuary city of New York.
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors apprehended more than 118,000 migrants who illegally crossed the Mexican border into the U.S. This represents nearly two-thirds of the more than 180,000 migrants apprehended along the entire U.S.-Mexico Border, according to unofficial CBP reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas.
Nearly 50,000 of the migrants entering the Texas border sectors came into the Del Rio Sector — now the nation’s busiest sector. An additional 35,000 entered through the Rio Grande Valley Sector and 25,000 in the El Paso Sector. The remaining 8,000 migrants entered through the Laredo and Big Bend Sectors.
The July crossings are down slightly from the more than 128,000 migrants apprehended in these sectors in June. Single adult migrants accounted for 85,287 of the migrants apprehended in Texas-based border sectors in June, the report indicates. This represents a 13 percent increase over June 2021 apprehensions.
Since the beginning of the current fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2021, agents in these sectors apprehended a total of 1.14 million migrants. --->READ MORE HERE
Texas state troopers returned 3,900 illegal immigrants to border:
Texas state troopers have taken custody of and returned to the border several thousand migrants who illegally crossed from Mexico, according to the governor’s office.
In the five weeks since Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) directed police forces to arrest and transport back to ports of entry any person suspected of illegally entering the United States from Mexico, the state has returned nearly 4,000 people that Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety officers have apprehended in the more than a year that they have been deployed to the border under Operation Lone Star.
"Over 3,900 have been returned," a spokeswoman told the Washington Examiner Tuesday.
The state is attempting to help federal officials return to Mexico a fraction of the people they encounter, but it is not known what percentage of total illegal immigrants that Texas state police and military officers encountered at the border over the past month have been returned. Texas has not disclosed what criteria it uses to decide if someone is transported to ports of entry for return, arrested by local officials, or transferred to the Border Patrol.
Last month, Abbott authorized state officials to "return those illegal immigrants to the border at a port of entry" in a July 7 executive order. The order suggests that Texas authorities will not enter Mexico but rather drop people off at U.S. Customs and Border Protection-run ports of entry to be returned south. --->READ MORE HERE
