Texas to send illegal immigrants back to border:
State is 'stepping up' since Biden 'refuses to do his job,' governor says
When Texas authorities arrest illegal immigrants, they will now be able to take them and dump them back on the U.S.-Mexico border, Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday.
The Republican governor signed an executive order empowering his state police and the Texas National Guard to deliver them from the state’s interior back to the ports of entry, or official border crossing points.
Mr. Abbott said he was compelled to step up after President Biden took federal agencies off the field with new relaxed border policies, which he said led to “historic levels of illegal crossings” in recent days.
“While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,” the governor said in a statement. --->READ MORE HERE

Gov. Greg Abbott empowers state authorities to return migrants to border crossings:
Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday cleared state authorities to return migrants they apprehend to the border, setting up a potential clash with the federal government over the authority to enforce immigration law.
Immigration law enforcement is a federal responsibility. Abbott appears to be testing the limits of state authority by empowering state law enforcement and National Guard troops under state deployment to bring migrants to the ports of entry — stopping short of using state resources to expel migrants from the country, as immigration hawks have increasingly called for in recent months.
It was not immediately clear how state law enforcement would determine which migrants should be transported.
Despite the state’s allocation of $4 billion for border security and the deployment of thousands of National Guard troops and state police to the border, Abbott has faced growing pressure from within his party to assert a stronger state role and invoke “invasion” powers under the U.S. Constitution. Such a declaration, some Texas Republicans contend, would give states solid legal ground to invoke war powers to allow the state’s National Guard to deport migrants. The idea has been widely derided by legal experts as a political ploy, and Abbott earlier this year expressed concern that it could expose state law enforcement to federal prosecution. --->READ MORE HERE
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Orders National Guard, Police to 'Return' Illegal Aliens To The Border:
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order directing state authorities to “return” illegal aliens to the U.S-Mexico border on Thursday.
The order applies to soldiers of the Texas National Guard and officers of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Under the order, service members and police are directed to apprehend illegals who enter Texas outside of a port of entry and “return those illegal immigrants to the border at a port of entry.”
Abbott cited the illegal immigration crisis his state has witnessed under President Joe Biden. Immigration enforcement has traditionally been considered the responsibility of the federal government, but federal authorities have consistently declined to deport illegal aliens since Biden’s inauguration.
The Rio Grande Valley in South Texas has been swamped with thousands of illegal aliens on a seemingly daily basis. --->READ MORE HERE
