Ukraine Calls for More Arms as It Girds for Heavier Fighting Against Russia in the East; How Ukraine Used a Ragtag Arsenal to Thwart Russia’s Air Attacks; Russian troops heard being ordered to ‘slay’ civilians: ‘F–king kill them all!’, LIVE UPDATES and MORE

Ukraine Calls for More Arms as It Girds for Heavier Fighting Against Russia in the East:
Ukrainian officials called for more weapons to fight Russia as both sides mobilize forces in the east for what are expected to be some of the fiercest battles of the war so far.
At a meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels on Thursday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba underscored his country’s need for a sustainable supply of arms to counter Russia’s offensive in the eastern Donbas area.
“The battle for Donbas will remind you of the Second World War, with its large operations and maneuvers, the involvement of thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, planes and artillery,” Mr. Kuleba said. “And this will not be a local operation, based on what we see in Russia’s preparations.”
The plea came as the U.S. House and Senate passed legislation to strip Russia of its most-favored-nation trade status and ban Russian oil imports, and the United Nations General Assembly voted to suspend Russia from the U.N. Human Rights Council, reflecting international outrage over reports of atrocities committed against Ukrainian civilians.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, who has warned that the war is entering a critical phase, said the Brussels meeting addressed Ukraine’s need “for more air-defense systems, antitank weapons, lighter—but also heavier—weapons, and many different types of support.”
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said after the NATO meetings that the U.S. increased shipments of weapons systems to Ukraine last year and continues to send arms amid what he described as a constantly evolving picture. --->READ MORE HERE
Russian troops heard being ordered to ‘slay’ civilians: ‘F–king kill them all!’:
Intercepted Russian radio messages caught weary troops complaining about being vastly outnumbered — and being ordered to “f–king kill” civilians, according to Ukraine intelligence.
“Civilians, everyone, slay them all!” a Russian commander barked at his underlings during the brutal assault on Mariupol, according to a clip released Wednesday by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).
According to the intelligence service’s own translation, the intercepted audio started with a soldier alerting his boss to the fact that a car driving by was full of people dressed like civilians.
“F–king kill them all, for f–k’s sake!” the apparent boss snaps, according to the SSU’s translation.
“What is f–king wrong with you, motherf–kers?” he adds in anger at their clear hesitancy at having to slaughter civilians, according to the clip.
A third man was captured in another clip complaining that it is “so f–ked up” that they are being made to advance on a village where they know they are vastly outnumbered by defending Ukrainians. --->READ MORE HERE
