Corrupt Media Spin Texas Legislature Saying Boys Can’t Destroy Girls’ Sports As ‘Controversial’'; Gov. Greg Abbott Expected to Sign Transgender Sports Bill, and related stories

Corrupt Media Spin Texas Legislature Saying Boys Can’t Destroy Girls’ Sports As ‘Controversial’:
The Texas state Senate and House voted to pass a bill that restricts public school athletes from playing on sports teams that don’t match their sex — and the corporate media is already busy spinning it.
The Lone Star State’s Senate voted for the bill 19-12 on Friday and the House accepted the Senate’s amendments 76-61 on Sunday after months of deliberations on the issue. The legislation, which was sponsored by Rep. Valoree Swanson, now awaits a signature from Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who previously signaled his intent to sign laws that protect girls’ sports.
“For five years the University Interscholastic League (UIL) in Texas has had a rule in place prohibiting boys from playing girls in girls’ sports,” Abbott said in April. “But the Texas Legislature is working on a bill to codify that, which I will sign.”
As the legislation currently stands, students’ participation on certain sports teams will have to correspond with the sex listed on their birth certificate. The bill contains one exception that allows biological females, no matter what so-called gender identity they claim, to participate on male sports teams if no option is available for girls. --->READ MORE HERE
Gov. Greg Abbott expected to sign transgender sports bill:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is expected to sign a bill requiring student-athletes in the state’s public school system to compete on teams that correspond with their biological sex.
Texas lawmakers passed H.B. 25 on Sunday after Abbott added it to the agenda of a special legislative session on redistricting in the state.
Critics of the legislation say it unfairly discriminates against transgender student-athletes, while supporters say it prevents placing female athletes at a disadvantage with biologically male competitors.
Nine other states have banned transgender student-athletes from competing on teams corresponding with their gender identity either through legislation or executive order, according to the Movement Advancement Project . Several of those efforts are subject to ongoing litigation. --->READ MORE HERE
