McConnell Warns Democrats He'll Block Rushed Infrastructure Package; GOP Senators Move to Prevent Biden’s $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill from Benefiting China; Bill Twice the Length of the Bible, and related stories

McConnell warns Democrats he'll block rushed infrastructure package:
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threatened to block a bipartisan infrastructure package on Tuesday if Democrats cut off debate on amendments too quickly.
The Kentucky Republican’s warning comes in response to a plan by Democrats to wrap up the $1.2 trillion measure this week. Democrats plan a Thursday vote to end debate on carefully negotiated legislation and to pass it before leaving town for the Friday funeral of former Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming, who died following a bicycle accident last week.
That’s too fast, McConnell warned.
“This is an extremely important bipartisan bill,” McConnell told reporters. “There's an excellent chance it will be a bipartisan success story for the country, and to try to truncate an amendment process on something of this magnitude, I think it's a mistake.” --->READ MORE HERE

GOP senators move to prevent Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill from benefiting China:
A cadre of Republican senators is pushing amendments to the White House’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure package to prevent U.S. tax dollars from benefiting China.
The effort comes as Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer of New York is pressing to hold a final vote on the infrastructure package this week. The frantic pace comes even as lawmakers have had little time to review the 2,702-page bill, which was released late Sunday.
Republicans, including Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, argue the least Congress can do while considering the legislation is ensure that no federal tax dollars go to America’s greatest geopolitical adversary, China.
To that end, Mr. Kennedy has introduced an amendment that would prevent federal funds from being spent on products or resources made from forced labor. The amendment specifically targets China’s dominance of the solar-panel market
China controls roughly 50% of the world’s supply of polysilicon, the material used to construct solar panels. Beijing extracts the resource from the Xinjiang province, where the communist regime is accused of violating the human rights of hundreds of thousands of Uyghur Muslims. --->READ MORE HERE
