Federal judge blocks Abbott's order banning migrant transports:
State troopers will no longer be able to pull over drivers who they suspect of transporting migrants into Texas — as a recent executive order by Gov. Greg Abbott prescribed — after a federal judge Tuesday temporarily blocked it.
In a win for the Biden administration, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Cardone said the Republican governor’s order caused “irreparable injury” to the U.S. and the immigrants in its custody, and that she may extend the hold until the case is resolved. Abbott’s order had stopped contractors hired by the federal government, nonprofits and volunteers from helping transport migrants to shelters and other drop-off points where they can stay temporarily, as they await court proceedings..
“Hopefully it will get people to transport migrants again,” said Felicia Rangel-Samponaro, co-director of the Sidewalk School, a nonprofit that helps transport asylum seekers, of the judge’s order. Rangel-Samponaro said drivers have been hesitant to take jobs since Abbott’s order. --->READ MORE HERE

Federal judge blocks Texas governor’s get-tough policy to block migrants from leaving border:
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order against Texas on Tuesday, blocking Gov. Greg Abbott’s latest get-tough border policy aimed at preventing illegal immigrants from dispersing throughout his state.
Judge Kathleen Cardone, a Bush appointee to the bench, said Texas was interfering with the way the federal government wanted to carry out its immigration policy.
The two-page ruling is a victory for President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, giving them a continued free hand in catching and releasing tens of thousands of illegal immigrants each month.
Mr. Abbott had said he feared the migrants were spurring a COVID surge, and he flexed state powers to order troopers to block any non-law enforcement vehicle believed to be carrying migrants away from the border area. --->READ MORE HERE
Texas Gov. Abbott Promises More Action After Court Blocks His Immigration Order:
Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott blasted the Biden administration after a federal judge halted his executive order to restrict the transportation of illegal immigrants in the state due to COVID-19.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Cardone granted a temporary restraining order against the governor’s order on Tuesday.
“The Court’s recent order is temporary and based on limited evidence. We look forward to providing the Court with the evidence to support the Governor’s Executive Order to protect Texans,” Abbott’s office said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The Biden Administration has knowingly — and willfully — released COVID-19 positive migrants into Texas communities, risking the potential exposure and infection of Texas residents,” the statement continued.
“The Governor’s Executive Order attempts to prevent the Biden Administration from spreading COVID-19 into Texas and protect the health and safety of Texans,” Abbott’s office added. --->READ MORE HERE
