‘Break them up’: GOP Vows Big Tech Backlash Over Facebook Trump Ban; Facebook Oversight Board That Upheld Trump Ban Mostly Tied to Soros; TRUMP'S REACTION, and related stories

‘Break them up’: GOP vows Big Tech backlash over Facebook Trump ban:
Break up Big Tech — or regulate it so that major platforms cannot discriminate by viewpoint, Republicans said Wednesday.
Former President Donald Trump’s allies in Congress vowed to strike back after Facebook’s decision to uphold its ban on Trump’s account — especially when the political tide turns, perhaps as soon as 2022.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) accused Facebook of “acting like a Democrat Super PAC” and wrote, “A House Republican majority will rein in big tech power over our speech.”
“Break them up,” tweeted Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a staunch Trump ally and the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee.
Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), who leads the conservative Republican Study Committee, wrote, “If Facebook is so big it thinks it can silence the leaders you elect, it’s time for conservatives to pursue an antitrust agenda.” --->READ MORE HERE
Facebook Oversight Board that upheld Trump ban mostly tied to Soros:
The Facebook Oversight Board that upheld the site’s ban on President Donald Trump overwhelmingly has ties to George Soros and leftist agendas — though numerous members claim that they support free speech.
The 20-member panel directed Facebook to review Trump’s account within six months to justify further expulsion, saying it did not favor a permanent block. Trump was removed following the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, has been Facebook’s biggest critic in Congress and is the author of a new book titled The Tyranny of Big Tech. He dismissed the claim that the Oversight Board is an independent body.
“This is a fake court set up by Facebook to allow Facebook to do whatever Facebook wants to do,” Hawley declared Wednesday on the Bannon’s War Room podcast. “This is not surprising at all. This is what Facebook does all the time. This is what you can do with your monopoly because there is no accountability … Facebook doesn’t care. They don’t have any real competition, so they can go out there and suspend/deplatform a U.S. sitting president.” --->READ MORE HERE
