Biden’s latest multitrillion-dollar plan to reward Dem allies — and balloon government:
President Joe Biden’s “American Families Plan” is yet another bid to reward Democratic interests with yet more cash and government and quasi-government jobs, further bloating America’s already-massive federal bureaucracy and nanny state.
The mammoth $1.8 trillion spending splurge unveiled Wednesday builds on his $2.3 trillion “infrastructure” proposal and the $1.9 trillion “relief” package he already rammed through Congress. That’s a total of $6 trillion in brand-new spending rolled out in his first 100 days — very little of it focused on helping the country recover, and most of it targeted to remaking the nation to match Democrats’ partisan dreams.
The new outlays amount to more than what the entire US government spends in a year and would add to a budget that’s already the largest (as a share of US GDP) since World War II.
Who benefits from Biden’s largesse? A huge chunk — more than half a trillion, just in his latest plan — would go to his friends in the education business (read: teachers’ unions): $200 billion to fund universal pre-school for 3- and 4-year-olds, $109 billion for two years of “free” community college, $80 billion in expanded Pell grants, $62 billion to prevent college dropouts, $46 billion for “minority-serving” universities and $9 billion for teacher programs. --->READ MORE HERE
Biden rolls out $1.8 trillion plan to boost social welfare spending and tax the rich:
President Joe Biden plans to unveil a $1.8 trillion spending and tax credit package aimed at buoying families during his address to a joint session of Congress.
Billed as the "American Families Plan," the package proposes $1 trillion in social welfare investments over a decade, in addition to $800 billion in tax benefits, which Biden will say can be paid for over 15 years.
And while Democrats will be pleased with much of the plan's contents, its price tag will strain Democrats while further provoking Republicans who are already balking at the cost of Biden's $2.25 trillion infrastructure package.
The American Families Plan proposes free universal preschool to all 3- and 4-year-olds and two years of free community college, senior administration officials said Tuesday. Neither program, estimated to cost a combined $309 billion, would be means-tested, meaning that they would be available to rich families as well as to poor ones.
The preschool initiative would be run in conjunction with state governments, the officials said. And Dreamers, meaning immigrants brought to the United States as young children without authorization, would be eligible for the community college scheme. --->READ MORE HERE
