Democrats begin opening arguments in second day of Trump impeachment trial:
Former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial got underway Wednesday with Democrats reportedly planning to show previously unseen video from the deadly Capitol riot he’s accused of inciting — even though Republicans have already indicated they consider the proceeding unconstitutional and are prepared to acquit.
Day 2 of Trump’s unprecedented second trial in the US Senate marks the official start of the case being presented by Democratic impeachment managers from the House of Representatives, with Tuesday’s session having been devoted to debating and deciding its constitutionality.
An overwhelming majority of Senate Republicans — 44 out of 50 — voted to block the proceeding based on Trump’s argument that the chamber doesn’t have jurisdiction over him because he’s no longer in office, but were thwarted by six GOP colleagues who switched sides and threw in with all 50 Democrats. --->READ MORE HERE

Key Trump quotes left out of impeachment trial, GOP says:
Republicans on Wednesday accused Democrats of playing dirty at the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump — as one GOP senator said Trump’s acquittal on a charge of inciting last month’s deadly Capitol riot was “pretty well” guaranteed.
During Day 2 of the unprecedented proceedings in the US Senate, several high-profile Republicans said Democratic impeachment managers from the House of Representatives had selectively quoted from Trump’s speech to his supporters before they stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6.
“President Trump told protestors to ‘peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,'” the Republican House Judiciary Committee tweeted.
“You left that part out. Wonder why?”
A similar sentiment came from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
“There’s one line from President Trump’s January 6th speech that Democrats keep conveniently leaving out: ‘Peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,'” Meadows tweeted. --->READ MORE HERE
