As the U.S. continues to see an influx of illegal immigration, former acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan is putting his foot down that Congress needs to fix asylum laws.
A new migrant caravan formed recently, and as of late Thursday, at least 395 people boarded “The Beast” train, also known as “La Bestia,” on their journey to U.S. soil, according to Reuters.
Appearing on “Fox & Friends” on Saturday, the former ICE director called for there to be legislative changes to close the asylum loopholes, as well as consequences.

“We need consequences,” Homan said. “We need deterrents.”
Homan declared that ICE must find and remove the family units “who had their day in court or they didn’t show up in court” and are cheating the U.S. immigration system by staying illegally.
