The Sessions DOJ is Working to End the Great Asylum Hustle

After Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced last month that the Justice Department would be tightening the criteria for those claiming asylum, the pro-open borders legacy media sprang into action. Rather than have an intellectual debate on the merits of the change, they predictably found and promoted a series of victims. The sad faces and tales of misery portrayed in the coverage tugged at the heartstrings and lead readers to one conclusion: the only reason Sessions enacted this policy is because he is mean-spirited and doesn’t like women and small children. It’s time to put aside this knee-jerk emotionalism and confront the realities of the issue.
President Trump often talks about the loopholes in our immigration laws, and there is no better example than asylum laws. Unlike others seeking entry into the United States, those requesting asylum do so based on the honor system. The applicant need only assert persecution or a well-founded fear of future persecution in their homeland by the government (or a non-governmental actor that the government is unwilling or unable to control) based on race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. No proof of persecution is required, and would be nearly impossible to acquire if it even existed. This “credible fear” standard is easily met and has allowed many illegitimate claimants to remain in the country. So the United States is expected to accept people about whom little is known and based on claims that may or may not be true.
In terms of what is good for America, that is a high-risk, low-reward proposition. --->

Just another pathetic article about keeping America WHITE.

We all saw the stat yesterday: less that 50% republicans believe diversity is good for America.

It really just makes me sick.

And btw, domestic abuse, gangs, etc SHOULD ABSOLUTELY be considered for those seeking asylum! Their very lives are in danger. If that doesn't qualify, I don't know what should.

Republicans, you have truly lost your souls.

And yes, Sessions is mean. He is cut from the same cloth as King, Kelly, Miller, etc. RACISTS.

Also, the immigrants here illegally bless America. ECONOMICALLY AND CULTURALLY. They work hard. They do work we don't want to do. FARMERS and other industries CANNOT sustain profitability without them. They keep our economy humming. They do NOT hurt us, they help us. And not only that, they keep our birth rate sustainable.

There IS NO REASON WHATSOEVER NOT TO GIVE THEM LEGAL STATUS - DREAMERS, THEIR PARENTS, and the rest.

THEY do NOT HURT US. They only hurt the people who want to keep America white.

I am still as conservative as ever. But I never liked, nor could understand the right's hatred for immigrants, and it's not a conservative position anyway. America has always been and always should be a nation of immigrants! It's part of what makes us who we are. It has enriched us from DAY ONE.

What I didn't realize when I was a republican is the true nature of the anti-immigrants crowd. I THOUGHT they were just a little misguided, and that they really did only care about the "rule of law". But that was never the truth. I made excuses for them in my mind, and I didn't see what their motivations really are: white nationalism. They want a white America, and are threatened by other cultures. Period. Full stop. You're either with the haters (Ann Coulters and Steve Kings), or you're not.

I won't be part of that crowd. I also cannot be part of a crowd that now coddles dictators, tolerates the barrage of lies that flow daily from this administration, starts trade wars, and would dangerously dismiss NATO- the strategy that has kept democracies safe for over 70 years.

You guys who signed on with Trumpism are destroying the conservative movement. You don't care. You're as reckless as the little dope. And you're going to eventually get what you deserve.

I called this in DEC 2015, tho it's much worse than I imagined. I said it would destroy the party, and it is. People like me left the party. You're now down to about 26%. You can't keep going with those numbers. Thank Heaven you will eventually be stopped.
