President Donald Trump nominated a former aide to Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer to serve on the Federal Trade Commission Monday.
If confirmed by the Senate, Rebecca Slaughter will serve on the bipartisan panel with five other members. The members of the panel, which can have no more than three commissioners in the same political party, serve seven-year terms, Reuters reported.
Slaughter’s former boss recommended her for the position, saying she “will make an excellent FTC commissioner.” Schumer is “proud to have recommended her to the White House,” he said in a statement.Read the rest of the story HERE.
