Ted Cruz can now say ‘I told you so’

Do you like Obamacare?
I do not like Obamacare.
Here or there.
I do not like it anywhere.
Please forgive the brief political rewrite of the classic — Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham.”
This redone version is offered as evidence that Ted Cruz was right.
The U.S. senator from Texas (who, by the way, trounced Donald Trump in the Amarillo area during the GOP presidential primary) read “Green Eggs and Ham” as part of his marathon 21-hour filibuster against the so-called Affordable Care Act in 2013.
Cruz’s recitation drew criticism from Democrats (no surprise there, since most Democrats never oppose bigger government). However, there were also Republicans who chided Cruz, such as former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who suggested Cruz’s reading of “Green Eggs and Ham” was nothing more than a “bedtime story” and that Cruz was not a serious candidate.
Well then, let’s get serious.
Cruz’s opposition to Obamacare was based, in part, on the fact Cruz was aware that once this government-mandated health care monstrosity was unleashed on America, there would be no stopping it.
