President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to defund Obamacare “on day one,” a source familiar with Trump’s transition team told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Trump made repealing Obamacare a central tenant of his campaign, regularly promising voters that he will repeal and replace Obamacare “with something terrific.”
Congressional Republicans and Trump are in a good position to defund the Obamacare early on in Trump’s presidency, according to a staffer for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who spoke with TheDCNF.
McConnell asserted Wednesday that repealing Obamacare was a top priority. “It [Repealing Obamacare] is a pretty high item on our agenda, as you know,” McConnell told reporters. “I would be shocked if we didn’t move forward to keep our commitment to the American people.”Read the rest of the story HERE.
