I didn't listen to it, and I have not watched the convention. I don't know who can. What a crapshow.

Anyway, good for Cruz. Never has been my favorite, and never will be. But I sure like him a lot more than I did 24 hours ago.

There are not too many Republicans left who will not sell their souls.

I hope there are enough left when this is all over, to pick up the pieces and put conservatism back together again.

Conservatism, such as it is, still has a bad hangover from the Bush years. Conservative politicians are being held to account by voters. I don't know why people are blaming the cure (Trump) rather than the illness (lousy conservatism). Trump's pivot to a more Reagan/Nixon/Eisenhower Republicanism was desperately needed.
