The 2016 Presidential RACE Is Not Close To The Wildest

This volatile presidential campaign can’t top 1968 for suspense or drama
Presidential candidates are running on the dark theme that things simply aren’t as good as they used to be. Our problems are unprecedented and seemingly intractable: Economic uncertainty. Unrest on college campuses. Racial tension. Rioting in black communities amid allegations that police are heavy-handed.
There’s growing concern about the environment. The president, sick of gun violence, chides the gun lobby for its intransigence. There’s an unpopular war in Asia. In the Middle East, Israel is on edge, and critics slam the president for not doing enough to help. Russia, determined to maintain control over its periphery, invades a neighbor, and the American president is criticized for weakness in the face of Kremlin aggression.
The president’s approval rating languishes below 50 percent, and the race to succeed him is a chaotic free-for-all. One bombastic candidate is threatening to run as an independent. In the midst of all this, there’s a vacancy on the Supreme Court. The lame-duck president knows it’s his constitutional duty to nominate a replacement – but it’s also an election year, and Senate Republicans vow to block him.
Has there ever been an election year like 2016?
LBJ and RFK
Indeed. Everything I described happened half a century ago.

No it's not wild at all, so why does everyone keep whining so much.
