Marco and Ted Took On Trump...Now It's My Turn

Today folks head to the polls for what's been called 'Super Tuesday,'
with 13 states and one territory casting their votes.* Here's but a few
critical facts about 'Super Tuesday' that you should be aware of...the
Republican candidates have a chance to win about half of the 1,237
delegates needed to secure the nomination...the Democrats about 880
delegates which is about a third of those needed for the nomination.
Also, in 2014, the Republican National Committee (RNC) decided that all
states holding their primaries before March 15 must award their
delegates to the candidates proportionally, rather than on a
winner-take-all basis...which I believe is the smarter and fairer thing
to do. This means that in most states the delegates will either be
awarded based upon the overall statewide vote or based upon who wins in
each congressional district. Democrats, however, award all of their
delegates (aside from superdelegates) proportionally.
And
Super Tuesday, like all primary dates that follow, is all about
numbers...with the critical number of delegates needed to win the
Republican nomination set at 1,237 out of
the 2,340 available. And remember, roughly 7% of the total delegates
are what's called 'unbound delegates'... delegates who may make the
difference between a narrow victory and a (hopefully) brokered
convention. And it's a brokered convention that would prevent Donald
Trump from getting the nomination...more on that later in this article.
So
what of Donald Trump himself...the leader of the candidate's pack
according to
the media and a sure bet, they say, to secure the Republican
nomination. I say that Trump is and has always been a liberal
progressive Democrat now dressed in Republican clothing... and was put
into the race to assure that the Democrats keep the White House
whether it's via Hillary herself or via Trump dressed up in his 'Made in
China'
thousand plus dollar suits and 'Made in Mexico' ties. Remember, Trump
needed Billy-Boy's approval to run against his wife...that in and of
itself says a lot.And Donald Trump, the very man who relishes in telling everyone how much he loves America, proves by his actions and words that he does not. Let me explain with five touch points, the first being his slogan 'Let's Make America Great Again.' What a unpatriotic thing for any true American to say as while some of our leaders might have fallen from political grace the fact remains that our country remains as she has always been...the greatest and freest nation the world has ever known.
Second, Donald Trump has not brought supposedly undiscussed issues to
the forefront as those very issues...illegal immigration, terrorism, and of course the
economy...have always been discussed...it's just that Trump's big mouth
screams them ad-nauseum as he panders and plays to the anger of the
masses and the disenfranchised...and the bought and paid for media
ratings whores lap it up and give Trump's voice and his voice alone
almost 24/7 coverage to do so, with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz...the only
two true candidates...being given little air time to counter anything he
says. And notice that Trump's recently saying that while he supports
the all-important Second Amendment he wants the First Amendment revised
because he doesn't like what some reporters say about him...that breech
of the Constitution the media pays no attention to.
Third, Donald Trump is the most unpresidential of any candidate who
has ever run for our nation's highest office. He continuously insults and bullies
not only his opponents but his followers as well. Trump loves to insult
the other candidates personal appearances, their mannerisms, and even
their religious beliefs. And when he's not insulting his fellow
candidates he's demeaning any and all who do not support him or bow down
to the Trump machine...just read some of his daily tweets. This would
never serve him or our country well when going against the likes of say
Vladimir Putin, as those who have put the Trump kool-ade down have
finally seen.
Fourth, Trump loves to say that he has no special interest groups to
answer to. And why is that...simply because Donald Trump is his own
special interest group. The very man who used to stay behind the
political scenes has moved into the spotlight with his 'Donald Trump
Presidential Reality Show' and the media is eating it up as tune-ins
equate into dollars, never mind that Trump has no depth of policy...in
fact no tangible policies at all to back up any of his media driven
'sound bites.'
And not to be forgotten is that government negotiations, especially
those on the foreign policy level, are a vastly different animal than
business negotiations...meaning it's not about making deals but about
putting American interests not the all-mighty dollar first. And we all
know that Donald Trump worships said almighty dollar before anything
else...so much so that he tells us how much money he has every chance he
gets. And with Trump not being able to single-handily pick and control
the so-called players like he can in his private business dealings, it
becomes even more apparent that foreign policy negotiations require the
very finesse that Trump simply does not have.Fifth, simply put, Donald Trump is a liar...we've had one of those for seven plus years now we don't need another one now do we. The very man who has said he will spend “whatever it takes” to win the nomination...translation: to buy himself the nomination...can easily be shown to be a liar of the first degree with the fact that Trump constantly loves to say that he is self-funding his own campaign.
However, nothing could be further from the truth as proven by his last
quarter financial statement... simply he is not funding most of his
campaign as the majority of his campaign funding comes from donors. In
said last quarter, Trump's campaign took in 73,942 'unsolicited
donations' totaling about $3.7 million, accounting for most of the $5.8
million the campaign has taken in and spent to date. Trump's actual
out-of-pocket financial contributions have been through 'in-kind' gifts
and loans...in other words the multi-billionaire wants his money back,
and he can pay himself back for the loans with doner-given campaign
funds at any point from the donations received. This is not what I'd
call self-funding, and if Trump lies about this what else is he lying
about...plenty for sure.And that leads us to some of Trump's other lies...of which there are too many to list in a single op-ed, so I'll give you juust a few. First, remember Trump's claim that “thousands and thousands of people” in New Jersey alone celebrated the 9/11 attacks...well that is a statement that has been proven untrue by Glenn Kessler of The New York Post and Lauren Carroll of PolitiFact’s. Sure some muslims did celebrate...I personally saw the reports on television of handfuls of muslims celebrating...but “thousands and thousands of people”...absolutely and unequivocally not true. And Donald Trump wants you to believe that each and every muslim in America is a terrorist just so he can feed on the hate and build his voter base, common sense be damned.
Liar...liar...
Lie number two encompasses Trump's so-called 'Trump
University'...which by the way was not a real university...and had to
change its name to 'Trump Entrepreneur Institute' due to it's false
advertising claim. This supposed institute was basically nothing more
than a seminar program that promised to teach its students the real
estate secrets that made Trump a billionaire...to a tune of $35,000
upfront that is. Now under lawsuits in at least three states, 'Trump
Entrepreneur Institute' turned out to be a con job where students got to
take their picture with a life-size cut-out of the man whose ego
'trumps' all. “We have an A from the Better Business Bureau" Trump said about his institute, however, the last rating on record for said
institute by the Better Business Bureau was a 2010 rating, which was a
D-minus.Liar...liar...pants on fire...
Lie number three involves Trump's statements concerning the Iraq War.
Saying that he was against the war from the very beginning, Trump
claims he said, “Do not go into Iraq. Do not attack Iraq...You'll
destabilize the Middle East," back when George W. Bush was first
preparing for war, but the fact is that Trump did not utter a single
word in public against the war until a year after the March 2003
invasion had begun. In fact, in a September 2002 interview with 'shock
jock' Howard Stern, Trump said for all tuned in to hear that he
supported the Iraq invasion. So I guess he's taking a play right out of
the Democratic playbook...'flip' when necessary...'flop' only when
political expedient gain is at hand.Liar...liar...pants on fire...nose is longer than a telephone wire...
Liar...liar...
And let's not forget lie number 5 concerning the monstrosity know as
ObamaCare. Trump continuously spews the virtues of single-payer health
care. In fact, in 1999, during his short-lived 2000 Reform Party
presidential bid, Donald Trump told CNN's Larry King: "If you can’t take
care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over...I
believe in universal healthcare." And in his 2000 book, 'The America We
Deserve,' Trump pushed for universal health care using Canada's
single-payer health plan as his example. And now a flip of sorts but a
flip short of a the much needed flop as during the first of the
presidential debates Trump said, "What I’d like to see is a private
system without the artificial lines around every states...Get rid of
the artificial lines and you will have yourself great plans. And then we
have to take care of the people that can’t take care of themselves. And
I will do that through a different system." And what is this exactly
but a hodge-podge of untruths for at the same time Trump praises single
payer he is vaguely advocating for a private system...well sort of.And know that half lies turn into full lies more times than not.
And I can go on about all the lies Donald Trump has told...lies told
to zero in on the public's anger against the DC political machine... but
by now even his most ardent of supporters are aware that Trump lies but
their anger has clouded their common sense leaving them to ignore the
fact that Trump’s entire persona is not unlike Obama's...as in he will
do and say anything when it serves his purposes. Over the years Trump
has lied to his business associates, his employees, his personal
friends, and of course to his previous wives, but the lies he's told to
the American people are the most grievous of all lies as the future of
our country is at stake.
And that brings me back to what I alluded to at the beginning of this
article...that being that a brokered convention is the only way to stop
this most politically dangerous of men. Simply, it's about the number
1,237, and I believe that in the end Marco Rubio will get the nomination
not Donald Trump...and why...because Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are
rightfully in the race until the end. And their delegates when added
together will force a brokered convention by denying Trump the needed
1,237 votes to secure the nomination. And with Rubio the only one who
can beat Hillary or Sanders in a head-to-head race, I also believe that
in the end that Ted Cruz will give his delegates to Marco Rubio who in
turn will nominate Cruz for the Supreme Court where he would serve this
country well for 30+ years.So as today is Super Tuesday I hope the 'Trump-drunk' put down their glass of Trump kool-ade and vote not out of anger but out of a genuine concern for the future of our country...our always great America who needs a true patriot as our country's steward instead of a liar extraordinaire...remember, been there, done that, and it has not served our country or 'We the People' well.
