Obama Is Politicizes A Choice That Isn’t His To Make

Supreme Court: President Obama claims that picking Judge Merrick Garland rises above politics. It does the exact opposite: He would have chosen someone else if he weren’t pressuring Republican senators not to wait until next year.
In nominating DC Circuit Chief Judge Merrick Garland to fill the late Antonin Scalia’s seat on the U.S. Supreme Court, the president asserted that the Supreme Court is “supposed to be above politics. It has to be. And it should stay that way.”
Tell that to Justice Clarence Thomas, whose 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings were turned into a circus of unsubstantiated sexual rumor by Senate Democrats, led by none other than Obama’s vice president, then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Joe Biden. Or to Ronald Reagan’s nominee, the late Judge Robert Bork, the greatest jurist of his generation, whom the same Biden harpooned for purely ideological reasons in 1987; it worked: Anthony “Swing” Kennedy was confirmed instead.
Garland is the consummate political pick. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., citing Biden’s long-ago demand that there be no high court nominations in a presidential election year, dug his heels in weeks ago and stated that no Obama nomination would be given hearings or a floor vote. In response, Obama is dangling a Democrat who seems moderate. Former Senate Judiciary Commitee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, unhelpfully praised Judge Garland some years ago.

Orin Hatch ran his first U.S. Senate campaign in Utah against an incumbent he claimed was in Washington too long: he’s living in extreme hypocrisy. Hatch’s voting record has deteriorated to the left of most GOP leaders on social issues!

Hatch has been a BIG supporter of federal intervention in Education. Hatch sponsored the first national bill mandating the purchase of health insurance. Hatch has been one of the STRONGEST voices for serial amnesty, and he served as the critical vote for the Gang of 8 bill in committee and on the Senate floor. He's one of the earliest supporters of Obama's Dream Act, a bill that Congress rejected. Hatch is a major supporter of the Democrat Party's immigration agenda. Hatch has a long record of supporting tax pork for green energy, and earmarks in general.

It is sick how Hatch betrayed his Utah constituents over and over again. Hatch's corrupt, vacant, and meaningless conservative facade has been totally debunked.
So nobody should think Hatch saying this or that is the conservative viewpoint, it is THE OPPOSITE.
