HYPOCRISY WATCH: Trump Hired Hundreds Of Foreign Workers For Jobs Americans Wanted

Nearly 300 Americans applied for jobs at Donald Trump’s swanky Mar-a-Logo club in Palm Beach, Fla., since 2010. Trump hired 17.
The rest of the jobs, and perhaps more, were filled by foreign workers that Trump brought into the country though the H2-B visa program, a temporary work visa program that lets companies bring in low-wage workers for seasonal jobs.
According to an in-depth article in the New York Times, the resort applied for a total of 500 H2-B visas over those years. Assuming these immigrant workers filled the rest of the available jobs, that means Trump hired Americans for just 3.4% of the jobs available at Mar-a-Logo since 2010.
A Reuters report from last summer found Trump’s various companies had “sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000.” One of the companies applied for temporary work visas for 250 fashion models.
