Are America's Young Lost To Socialism?

Ideology: Polls show a shocking number of Democrats, in particular young ones, find socialist ideas not merely acceptable but preferable to capitalism. It’s hard to imagine a more stunning indictment of our schools.
The Democratic Party, once home to many moderates, is increasingly the abode of those who believe socialism is superior to capitalism, according to a poll of 1,000 likely Democratic voters by the American Action Forum (AAF) earlier this month
Some 47% of those Democrats queried found “socialism” and “communism” either “very favorable” or “favorable.” That’s exactly the number that found capitalism favorable. And nearly 60% thought socialism would be great for America.
Meanwile, those under 45 favored socialism over capitalism by 46% to 19%. But, surprisingly, so did those older than 45, though to a lesser extent. Democrats believe socialism is better than capitalism — despite decades of proof of socialism’s failure as an economic system and its moral depravity in denying people rights to life and liberty.
Our own IBD/TIPP Poll in January had similar findings, with 43% of Democrats saying they’d pay higher taxes for more social programs, and 38% saying government should “control or own key industries such as health care and energy.”
Great news for Bernie Sanders, but terrible news for America.
