Egypt Floods Terrorist Tunnels ... Well Done President Al-Sisi

Egyptian forces flooded smuggling tunnels beneath the Gaza-Egypt border in Rafah on Friday in a reported attempt to stamp out terror activity.
Authorities feared the tunnels, which lead from Sinai to the Gaza Strip, would allow for smuggling by Islamist militants between the blockaded Palestinian enclave, according to a report by DPA.

The military pumped water from the Mediterranean Sea into the pipes of the underground cross-border tunnels in an effort to curb the use of the passages in their entirety.
Officials first announced that the area would be flooded a month ago and now plan to convert it into 18 fish farms along the 13 kilometre border with Gaza.

Since 2007, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip has been subject to a blockade imposed by Egypt and Israel, designed in part to prevent terror group Sinai Peninsula importing weaponry.
The Sinai Peninsula is a bastion of the jihadist group Sinai Province, an ally to the Islamic State group, which has territory in Iraq and Syria.
Residents of Sinai, who complain they have long been neglected by the state, say they rely on smuggling trade through tunnels for a living.
