Illegal Aliens: Our Next Ruling Class

Rule Of Law: Two aliens have been appointed city commissioners in California, an unprecedented institutionalization of illegal immigration. But contrary to reports, the public's mad and red flags of corruption are up.
In a page-one headline, the Los Angeles Times hailed the appointment of illegal immigrants to two Huntington Park, Calif., civic commissions as a milestone that "charts a bold path for immigrants."
It was booster journalism at its worst, gushing about illegals gaining participatory "rights" in U.S. public life that had supposedly been unjustly denied them. It also stood in stark contrast with the multiple local press reports — KPCC, KTLA, CBS-LA and more — which reported the event as primarily cause for angry protests.
Excellent choices for these positions
"Tempers Flare As Huntington Park Appoints Undocumented Immigrants To City Commissions," CBS Los Angeles reported. Residents called the appointments payoffs from local politicians to campaign workers, and angrily asserted they weren't the best people for the job. The "milestone," some said, would bring unwanted attention to a region already known for its Mexican cartel activity and spectacular municipal corruption.
It's even worse than that. Huntington Park is 97% Latino, with 50.5% foreign born, based on U.S. Census Bureau statistics cited by the Times, and a single-digit voter participation rate. By official figures, the city has about 60,000 residents. But because of its reputation as a drop-off depot for illegal immigrants, it probably has twice that. And those were the people protesting.

What the appointments of Julian Zatarain, 21, to Huntington Park's parks and recreation commission, and Francisco Medina, 29, to its health and education commission, represent is the political normalization of illegal immigration, regardless of what citizens want.
Corrupt political machines are making illegals our new rulers, issuing decisions, rules and, potentially, taxes, without concern that they are Mexican nationals.
