BAD IDEA! Relatives of US Citizens in Iran Lobby to have Release Tied to Nuclear Talks

Relatives of four Americans missing or detained in Iran told Congress on Tuesday of missed milestones — weddings, graduations, birth of grandchildren — and asked US officials to push harder for their release in talks with Tehran on a nuclear deal.
Lawmakers from both parties said if Tehran doesn’t release them immediately, they would find it difficult to trust the Iranian government to adhere to terms of the deal, which international negotiators are rushing to finalize before the end of the month.
Representative Ed Royce
‘‘If top Iranian officials cannot be counted on to assist these wrongfully jailed Americans, can they be counted on to honor the commitments they make at the negotiating table?’’ asked Representative Ed Royce, a California Republican who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee. ‘‘Call me a skeptic.’’
Representative Dan Kildee
After the testimony, the committee passed a measure introduced by Representative Dan Kildee, Democrat of Michigan, stating that Iran should immediately release the three Americans it holds, and provide all known information on any US citizens who have disappeared within its borders.

BAD IDEA: Here's my problem with this:

This could give Obama an out to to cave on inspections, break out period, etc., JUST to bring these people home.

Do you think Obama is above a BAD DEAL in favor of Four White House Lawn Photo-ops?  Been there ... Done that!

Those prisoners mean diddly squat to Iran. If you don't believe that THE ONLY REASON these people are being held all along is for Iran to use them as a bargaining chip for something, ... Then I have a bridge to sell you.

We don't need a Bad Deal in exchange for these people.

TURNING THE SCREWS on tougher sanctions (with real teeth) and some well placed Bunker Buster Bombs would be a good start in solving both the Iran problem and bringing those people home ... on OUR terms.
