Ted Cruz Will Raise The Bar For All

2016: That sound you hear from Washington is the gnashing of teeth after Sen. Ted Cruz announced that he'll run for president. The irrepressible Texan's principled conservatism makes many nervous — and that's good.
As those of us who've interviewed Cruz know, he's hardly the brittle, conservative killjoy that the mainstream media try to portray him. On the contrary, he is charming, funny, scarily smart, a brilliant debater and more than well qualified to lead this nation.
He also knows the issues extraordinarily well and has staked out clearly identifiable positions on all of them. Which is why the media, progressives, liberals and even some moderate Republicans hate him so much.
And that's why the announcement of his candidacy is a great way to start the 2016 presidential campaign. Win or lose, he'll set the bar high.
Cruz contrasts sharply with those in Washington who campaigned last year as conservative lions but now govern like moderate pussycats, clamoring for "deals" with out-of-power Democrats that will lead to bigger government, higher taxes and more regulations.
Love him or hate him, that's not Cruz. Just listen to what he said at Liberty University, the Christian school founded by Jerry Falwell, where Cruz became the first to officially announce. On issue after issue, he let us all know where he stands, without equivocation or wiggle room. To wit:
Immigration: "Imagine a president that finally, finally secures borders."
Taxes: "Imagine a simple flat tax that lets every American fill out his or her taxes on a postcard. Imagine abolishing the IRS."
ObamaCare: "Imagine in 2017 a new president signing legislation repealing every word of ObamaCare" and replacing it with "reform that ... makes health insurance personal and portable and affordable."
Read the rest HERE and if you haven't already listened to his Liberty University speech, you'll find it below:
