Some people so want to be outraged, they make up stuff they don’t like, attribute it to others, and then happily howl in outrage. Pandering to haters, Carson pretends to understand President Obama to call for comparing atrocities or giving quarter to terrorists or diverting attention from outrage over their evil deeds. Carson should listen up before he mouths off, as Obama said nothing of the sort.

Rather Obama condemned “ISIL, a brutal death culture that, in the name of religion, carries out unspeakable acts of barbarism.” He also praised Christianity and its virtues. He merely cautioned against getting on our high horse since Christianity too has been distorted at times and called for us to show some humility when pushing back against those who distort religion for their own evil ends so we don't paint with an overly broad brush and tar all for the sins of some.
