Mitt Romney as the 2016 GOP Spokesman and Pit Bull?

The GOP’s uptight 2012 presidential nominee known for his family-man image and awkward sound bites — just might turn into the Republican Party’s top
attack dog in 2016.
“He will be the one who carries the fight and makes the arguments and shows the contrasts,” said Tom Rath, a New Hampshire GOP consultant who helped Romney’s 2012 bid. “He fills the void while we are waiting to select a nominee, and he can be a very effective and compelling spokesperson who doesn’t have to be anything but be himself.”
The praise comes
after Romney yesterday
blasted former President Bill Clinton over the 42nd president’s high-profile affair with intern Monica Lewinsky.
“He embarrassed the nation,” Romney said of Clinton, whose wife, Hillary Clinton, is viewed as the likely
Democratic front-runner in the 2016 presidential contest. “He breached his responsibility, I think, as an adult and as a leader in his relationship. And I think that’s very unfortunate.”
Romney’s criticism adds fuel to the building Republican outcry about Clinton’s indiscretions in office, kicked off by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul last month when he
accused Clinton of being a sexual predator, described him as “predatory,” and said his actions are hypocritical as Democrats charge that Republicans are waging a “War on Women.”
But while Romney, speaking on “Meet the Press,” targeted Bill Clinton’s morality, he declined to tear into Hillary Clinton on the issue,
offering a reasonable voice that runs counter to the nationwide narrative that Republicans are irrational and frothing at the mouth.

OJ, open your eyes!

Bosman, glad you put this up. Thought it was interesting and true. Romney is an old hand now at saying what needs said, and doing it perfectly with graciousness. I hope he keeps doing it, and if it leads to the base realizing he's still the best, well then good.
